Rally4Rianda 2021

Why Rally for Rianda House?

We’re here for you! Rianda House is the only UpValley organization dedicated solely to serving and advocating for local seniors. Like the nations other 11,000 senior centers, Rianda House is recognized as the community focal point that serves as a gateway to the local support network for older adults. Every day the Rianda House team provides older adults and their families easy access to specialized no-cost programs and services in one place - connecting older adults to vital, and now virtual, resources that help individuals 55+ stay healthy, happy, safe and connected.

We’re grateful to the community for joining us year after year in keeping the health and happiness of older adults close in our hearts.

Your renewed support will help Rianda House expand and thrive!
Each year the Rianda House budget is fueled 100% by generous grants, donations, pledges, estate gifts and contributions from community supporters – like you.

Support Rianda House

Inspire. Connect. Flourish.

We all need strong bonds of friendship and support, active lifestyles, and a sense of purpose to get the most out of all the stages of life!

During the pandemic, Rianda House expanded beyond a physical place that welcomes UpValley older adults into an active senior center without walls open virtually Monday - Friday! Our team contacts participants by phone, virtual programs, newsletters, alerts and drive-through events to provide connections to virtual enrichment classes, discussion and support groups, lectures, exercise classes, and resource referrals – to keep older adults engaged, connected and less isolated.

As we continue to stay true to our usual program selections, virtual programing has allowed us to reach a larger audience, including individuals who are mobility and transportation challenged. As we move to reopening safety, we are excited to now have two program formats that will allow us to meet the needs of even more older adults!

"The creative, flexible and very successful efforts you’ve made to keep people connected via Zoom, as well as print-based methods and phone calls, is so very impressive. Perhaps even more powerful is the depth of genuine caring and friendship that the Rianda House team shows."
- Susan Boeschen (Match Challenge Team donor)

Greta Ericson

Rally4Rianda 2021 Honors

Greta Ericson – A Community Champion

Greta was good, really good, at everything she touched. Greta appreciated that her relationships and deep community connections helped her become the first female mayor, due in large part to broad support from the town’s women. She took special pride in her public relations campaign that saved the Tunnel of Elms, as well as her work in bringing Section 8 housing to St. Helena and eliminating downtown parking meters.

When Jean Rianda offered to give her home to her good friend, Greta instead persuaded Jean to bequeath her home to become a community senior center. Jean set just one condition: Greta was tasked to make the center a reality, and she did! It is fitting and appropriate we honor Greta Ericson during our 2021 Rally4Rianda for her pioneering efforts on behalf of older adults and the broader UpValley community.

2021 Community Drive-Thru Celebration

2021 Community Drive-Thru Celebration

Thank you for helping us get the Celebration & Fund-Drive Started!

On Sunday, May 16, the Rianda House Board and Staff hosted our first ever “drive-thru” Rally4Rianda Kick-off Celebration – and it was so much fun.
Of course, we missed holding our popular community event with the classic car show, live music, delicious food and merrymaking, and are hopeful next year will be different.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who celebrated with us, in St. Helena and Calistoga, by taking your favorite car out for a spin with your friends, family, and grandkids.

It was a beautiful festive afternoon – click here to view the photos!
