April Special Events in Aging Well Series:

Guided and Silent Meditation

Weekly Class led by Ester Akersloot

Mondays, 10:45 - 11:45 am

Meditation is a skill or practice used for simple relaxation, healing, blissful surrender to the divine, peace of mind, or whatever you desire in the moment.   Like any skill, you become better at it the more you practice it.  Meditation is not a goal or something you can accomplish.  It is a state of awareness that you can learn to experience with guidance and practice.

There are many "symptoms" of the inner peace one can attain by meditating regularly.  A few of them are:

  • Ease and susceptibility to love yourself and others
  • Heightened enjoyment of each and every moment
  • Loss of interest in conflict that stems from needing to always be "right
  • Less interest in judging yourself and/or others
  • Less interest in interpreting the actions or intentions of others
  • Increase in sense of general well-being
